Prep

In our computer classes this semester, the Preps, have been practising their mouse skills. During Term 2, they have learnt how to use the CTRL-ALT –DELETE, and have begun to use paint to further develop their mouse skill and TUX Typing programs which is beginning to introduce them to the keys on the keyboard.

Grade 2

During Term 2, the grade twos have been practising and developing the skill of searching for pictures on the internet. Then copying from the internet and inserting it into an office suite (PowerPoint or Word documents). We need to continue to practise saving their documents into their folder on the server so they are able to reopen it and continue working on it.

Grade 4

So far this year the grade 4’s have created PowerPoints while practising adding in bullet points, bolding the letters and underlining the text. During this term, they have been researching explorers. The students are about to begin to use “Story Jumper” to present a timeline of the explorer they have been researching. These books can either be up loaded to Story Jumper library or purchased and printed as a soft cover book.

The students were required to create their own account which linked into the class list so that it can be edited by the teacher.

Grade 5/6

The Grade 5/6’s have begun to use Wiki spaces as part of their Integrated Studies.

Grade 2,4 and 5/6

All these classes have been introduced to coding by using the website the code.org which they are enjoying using.
